Information for transfer students
The following is information for transfer students attending SOAR during the summer of 2008.
In March, transfer students who have confirmed their enrollment receive a postcard directing them to my.wisc.edu for information and instructions on how to make a reservation for one of several SOAR sessions, specifically for transfer students, offered from early June to the end of July. These are one-day sessions. Parents or guests are invited to attend at the same time for a separate, supportive session. They will learn about advising, course enrollment, resources, and campus life at UW–Madison.
Students who are unable to attend a session in June or July should attend a make-up SOAR session at the end of August. These abbreviated sessions focus on academic advising and enrollment only and occur the week immediately prior to the first day of classes. Because these sessions occur right before classes begin, we are unable to offer overnight accommodations or programming for parents and guests. Students can sign up for these sessions at their MyUW portal, my.wisc.edu, beginning in late July.
Do not make airline or other travel arrangements prior to receiving confirmation of your SOAR reservation.
SOAR Reservations
The Center for the First-Year Experience is now accepting SOAR reservations for 2008.
