Where to Stay
There is no additional or temporary housing provided by SOAR.
If you are living in a University Residence hall you may move into your room prior to SOAR check-in on Sunday, August 24.
If you will be living off-campus you should consult your lease/contracts for move-in dates. Off-campus students in need of temporary housing should visit www.iss.wisc.edu/mfis/programs/TempHouse.htm. Madison Friends of International Students works to match international student with available temporary housing.
Parents/Guests and off-campus students can make separate arrangements to stay at the Lowell Inn and Conference Center (campus hotel) for the duration of SOAR. Rooms have been set aside for the SOAR program (rooms will be available August 22–26). Follow the instructions below to make a hotel reservation. Block room reservations will only be available until July 25 or until availability runs out.
- To make reservations over the phone, call 866/301–1753. Tell the operator you would like to make a reservation with the International SOAR event.
- To make a reservation via the Internet visit conferencing.uwex.edu/lowell_reservations.cfm. Select the "book a room online" link. When prompted, select Conference or Event Room Block Reservations. For the Group number enter SOAR. Continue through the reservation process to reserve a hotel room.
Additional information about off-campus hotels can be found at www.visitmadison.com. This is a busy time of year of the Madison community. We highly recommend that you make travel and hotel arrangements well in advance.
