SOAR Postcard
The SOAR invitation
postcard is mailed beginning in March to admitted students who have paid
their enrollment deposit.
Confirmation Brochure
Confirmation brochures are sent approximately one week after the SOAR reservation
is received, along with a letter confirming the date of your
SOAR session.
The brochure includes logistic information and program details, and encourages
students to complete pre-SOAR tutorial.
Orientation Handbook
The Orientation Handbook is distributed at SOAR.
It contains comprehensive information about orientation, academics, transition
issues, and services and programs on campus.

Schedules are distributed at SOAR.
There are versions for Freshmen and Transfer students, and for the special
August and January sessions. The student schedule is on one side; parent/family
schedule on the other side.

sent to students who haven’t registered for SOAR as of late July.
Transfer
Student Information
This publication contains general information for transfer students from
within the UW System,
including details about testing and orientation.
January SOAR Postcard
This postcard invitation is mailed in December to freshmen and transfer
students who will attend January SOAR.
New
Student Leader Postcard
This postcard is mailed from NSLs to students as they complete their SOAR sessions.
It includes news about Wisconsin Welcome events, especially the Chancellor’s
Convocation and New Student Music Fest.
Welcome Preview
The Welcome Preview brochure is handed out at the SOAR Resource
Fair. It outlines featured events that will take place during Wisconsin
Welcome.

Events Brochure
The Events Brochure lists and describes featured events for the entire
span of Wisconsin Welcome. It is distributed through the “All
House Meetings” in University Housing.
Academic/Community
Events Publications
Students receive these posters/brochures during the first week of September,
in their University Housing mailboxes. These focus on academically-focused
events throughout the first semester, as well as on community-involvement
opportunities.
Undergraduate Catalog
The Undergraduate Catalog, distributed at SOAR,
contains academic program information and course descriptions.
